Diary of the Paraguay Mission – June 21
First day of the Mission. The group arrives in the Community ‘Yvu Porá Renda’, of the Mbya Guarany ethnic group, in the urban zone of Ciudad del Este. Services of medical and dental assistance, haircut and playful activities are conducted.
Many skin and respiratory diseases are detected. 15 medical cases and 7 dental cases were treated, mostly children.
The community has about 30 families that survive precariously in a place ceded by the city hall of Ciudad del Este. The people live on the selling of recyclable waste. The place has no space for the creation of a vegetable garden.
