Last month, the New Earth Light-Community, affiliated with the Fraternity – International Humanitarian Federation (FIHF), was present at the meeting of the Municipal Council for Food Security (Comsea) and the Municipal Council for Sustainable Rural Development (CMDRS) of the city of Teresópolis.
The proposal to bring these two bodies closer together was presented, since COMSEA is responsible for guaranteeing the right to adequate food and CMDRS aims to provide conditions for rural producers to develop their production.
The New Earth Light-Community is already an official member of Teresópolis’ COMSEA, due to the task of redistributing the food donations it receives and its concern for the best use of this food, which is distributed in large centers.
One of the members of the Plant Kingdom sector of the New Earth Light-Community was also present at the meeting, with the aim of further collaborating with the integration between the two bodies, since the rural producer is directly linked to feeding the population.
“May these initiatives always grow and bear fruit,” say the members of the Light-Community.
